The Role

Coach members through the work of opening and operating a home.

Our members have courses, coaching, a private community, templates, research, and tools to help them start and fill sober living homes. Access alone doesn't create progress. People still get overwhelmed, skip the next step, or stay quiet when they need help.

You'll manage those relationships proactively. That means checking in before someone complains, noticing patterns in engagement, helping members find the right resource or coach, and having clear conversations when their actions no longer match the goal they told us they wanted.

You'll bring real experience running sober living homes and help members apply our system to their own situation. You won't be expected to give legal or financial advice. When a question calls for a specialist, make the handoff and stay with the member until they have a useful next step.

What You'll Own

The work you'll be responsible for.

These are the parts of the member or applicant experience that sit with you. Some require a clear process. Others require you to listen, use good judgment, and know when to ask for help.

  1. Know your members

Understand what each person is building, where they are in the process, and what the next meaningful step should be.

  2. Check in before they stall

Use activity and real conversations to identify members who are drifting, then reach out with a reason.

  3. Create useful accountability

Help members leave each conversation with a clear next step and follow up on the commitments they made.

  4. Connect the right support

Route operational, coaching, and technical questions to the right person without losing ownership of the member experience.

  5. Surface patterns

Tell the team what members repeatedly misunderstand, where they slow down, and what could make the experience clearer.

  6. Recognize progress

Notice the small wins that keep people moving and the larger wins the community should celebrate.

You'll probably thrive here if...

  • You've operated sober living homes and can explain the decisions you made, what worked, and what you learned.
  • You understand the difference between being available and being proactive.
  • You can hold an adult accountable without talking down to them.
  • You notice patterns and follow loose ends before someone asks.
  • You write clearly, document decisions and next steps, and communicate with warmth without becoming vague.
  • You can care deeply about a member's outcome without taking responsibility for work only the member can do.

This probably isn't your role if...

  • You want to handle only generic support questions rather than help with real operating decisions.
  • You avoid direct conversations when someone isn't following through.
  • You need every interaction scripted word for word.
  • You hand off a question and stop paying attention to whether it gets resolved.
  • You confuse encouragement with telling people what they want to hear.
